WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Projected inclement weather and freezing temperatures have forced the postponement of Friday's scheduled softball game with Rutgers. The Boilermakers and Scarlet Knights will now play a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday and a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday.
The 11 a.m. Sunday start time is an hour ahead of the originally slated noon first pitch to accommodate for Rutgers' travel arrangements.
The weekend series will mark the first meetings between Purdue and Rutgers as Big Ten foes.
The Boilermakers (22-9, 3-0 Big Ten) have won 10 of their last 11 games, including a three-game sweep of Wisconsin last weekend to open their new stadium. Rutgers (12-8, 2-1 Big Ten) are slated to play a Wednesday doubleheader at Hofstra before travelling to West Lafayette this weekend.
