WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - On the final day before opening day, we invite you to learn a little more about the 2015 Boilermaker softball team, including fun facts and a few of their favorite things.
Today, we introduce our newest member, freshman catcher/outfielder Morgan Cavinder. Cavinder was a three-time all-Northwest Crossroads Conference selection and played in the ICGSA North-South All-Star game as a senior. As a senior, she batted .378 with 22 RBI, 22 runs, four doubles and three home runs en route to her third all-area honor. The academic all-conference selection played junior varsity basketball as a freshman.

Most memorable sports moment with Purdue Softball: Walking on to the team as a freshman
Most memorable sports moment prior to Purdue: My senior year of high school softball, the first game, my first at-bat and the first pitch, I hit a home run over the fence. The following at-bat, again the first pitch, I hit the ball almost in the exact same spot over the fence. I got walked the rest of my at-bats. It was special to me because it was the last softball game of mine that my mother was healthy enough to attend and she couldn't have been more proud of me.
