ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Purdue women's swimming and diving's Mary Beth Dunnichay has been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week for the second time this season.

Dunnichay was victorious on 1-meter with a Purdue season-best score (315.14) and took second on 3-meter in the Nov. 1 dual meet victory at Notre Dame, the Boilers' sixth straight in the series. The redshirt-junior has won five of the eight diving events on the young season.

Dunnichay was also recognized as the Big Ten Diver of the Week after sweeping the four diving events during Purdue's season-opening weekend (Oct. 17-18). With Steele Johnson also winning men's Diver of the Week after the first weekend followed by his Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor last week, a Purdue diver has been recognized by the league office after each of the first three weekends of the new season.

Jamie Bissett was a strong candidate for men's Diver of the Week honors after he swept the springboard events at Notre Dame. But Indiana's Michael Hixon was the pick by the conference office after he scored over 400 points from both springboards in a triple dual with Kentucky and Tennessee.

Dunnichay and all the Purdue divers will be back in action the weekend of Nov. 21-23 at the Ohio State Invitational. The women's swimmers will also compete there while the men's swimmers head to the Minnesota Grand Prix in Minneapolis that weekend.
