WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The sophomore trio of Natalia Davila, Andjela Djokovic and Nicole Robinson led the way for the Purdue women's tennis team at the Purdue Invite indoors Sunday at the Schwartz Tennis Center. One round of singles matches were contested in the third and final day of the tournament.
Davila turned in her third win in as many days by taking a 6-4, 6-1 match from Michigan's Kara Hall to push her fall mark to 3-0. Djokovic used a dominating 6-2, 6-0 match against Christine Guerazzi of Miami (Ohio) to keep her undefeated record intact at 6-0. Robinson picked up her fourth win of the fall campaign with a 7-6 (3), 6-2 outing versus Ana Rajkovic of Miami (Ohio).
The sophomores weren't the only ones credit with wins on Sunday, so was junior Tess Bernard-Feigenbaum. She defeated Alix Thurman of Miami (Ohio), 6-3, 6-2, to pick up her sixth win and remain unbeaten.
Through two fall tournaments, the Boilermakers have combined for a 39-8 singles record. They registered 13 straight-set victories, including five shutout sets, over the course of the three-day Purdue Invite.
Five teams were featured in the tournament in addition to the host Boilermakers: Michigan, Texas Tech, Louisville, Miami (Ohio) and Memphis.
The Purdue women's tennis team will play in its third fall tournament Oct. 10-12 at the Vanderbilt Invite in Nashville, Tenn.
