WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As part of our countdown to the season, we will give you the inside scoop on one of our 16 players. With 10 days left until the home opener, we introduce freshman Azariah Stahl, a 6-0 outside hitter from Elkhart, Ind.
A member of the 2012 U.S. Junior National Team that earned the bronze medal at the NORCECA Continental Championships, Stahl was a highly touted prepster as well, ranking as PrepVolleyball's No. 20 Senior Ace and as a Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection. She garnered All-America honors from Under Armour, MaxPreps and Prep Volleyball, while also being named as Indiana's Gatorade Player of the Year and a first team all-state selection as a senior.
The four-time all-conference honoree owns the Elkhart Central records for career kills (2,386), hitting percentage (.549), digs (984) and aces (250) and also the season records for kills, hitting percentage and aces. The daughter of John and Yolanda Stahl also competed in track in high school and was state qualifier in the high jump.
