WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - As part of our countdown to the season, we will give you the inside scoop on one of our 16 players. With 11 days left until the home opener, we introduce freshman Carissa Damler, a 5-4 defensive specialist from Brownsburg, Ind.
A two-time all-conference selection, Damler received her team's defensive specialist award each of her last two seasons. She led the team in aces and was among the top five in the state for digs as a junior. The daughter of Chuck and Marie Damler has also found success in the classroom, earning honorable mention Academic All-State selection as a senior and as a four-year honor roll and two-year National Honor Society member.
