WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Snow throughout Indiana and more rain in the forecast for Knoxville has led to yet another schedule change for Purdue baseball's season-opening series at Tennessee, now set for a Sunday through Monday format.

Purdue and Tennessee will now begin their seasons Sunday with a doubleheader at noon. Saturday's single game has been moved to Monday at 4 p.m.

With the forecast calling for temperatures in the mid-30s on Saturday in Knoxville, the weather for Sunday and Monday should be much more baseball friendly. Temps are expected to be the 50s on Sunday and Monday.

The original schedule called for Purdue, Tennessee and Nebraska-Omaha to play four games each this weekend at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. After a winter storm rolled throughout the southeast Wednesday, the schedule was changed to Saturday through Monday. Omaha opted to cancel its travel plans and withdraw from the mini tournament Thursday, leaving Purdue and Tennessee to play a traditional three-game series.

The Boilermakers have not played on a Monday since a May 2010 rubber game winner against Michigan State in West Lafayette. Purdue's 2010 season-opening weekend at the Big East/Big Ten Challenge also featured a Monday game.
