PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - The No. 30 Purdue men's golf team dropped both of its matches on Saturday and finished eighth at the Big Ten Match Play Championship.
The Boilermakers fell to Iowa, 4-2, in the fifth-place match, getting wins from senior Erich Johnston and freshman Adam Schenk.
In the afternoon session, Purdue came up short against Minnesota in the seventh-place contest, losing by a score of 3.5-2.5. Senior Nakarintra Ratanakul and junior William Sjaichudin both won against the Gophers, while Johnston halved his match.
The Boilers will return to action next week when they host the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, P.R., from Sunday-Tuesday.
