WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - In the wake of seven members of the Purdue women's track and field team earning United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors last week, the Boilermakers went on to earn their fourth consecutive USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor on Wednesday. The Purdue women have earned the award in all four years of its existence.

The Boilermakers were one of 151 NCAA Division I teams to secure honors in 2010, turning in a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) over 3.0. The University of Oklahoma led all schools with a 3.62 GPA, while Quinnipiac University was second with a 3.58. The Big East Conference led the nation with 12 schools earning team honors, followed closely by the Big Ten Conference and Big 12 Conference with eight apiece.

Big Ten Conference rival Penn State University was named the USTFCCCA Outdoor Track and Field Scholar Team of the Year, while Tennessee took home in the indoor team of the year award. The squads earned the distinction as a result of being the highest-placing teams with at least a 3.00-cumulative GPA at the most recent NCAA indoor and outdoor championship, respectively.
