Boilermakers In Eighth

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - After round two of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga., the ninth-ranked Purdue women's golf team is in eighth place.

In round one, the Boilermakers opened with a team score of 310 (+22), as did Auburn and North Carolina - good for a second-place tie. In round two, Purdue fired a team total 315 (+27). Purdue now sits in eight-place, 25 strokes off the pace of set by Duke and just seven strokes out of the top five.

Freshman Laura Gonzalez Escallon led the Boilermakers on Saturday with a score of 76 (+4). The Belgium native's two-round total of 153 (+9) moved her into a tie for 16th. Junior Maude-Aimee LeBlanc is tied for 26th after opening with a 75 on Friday and following with an 81 on Saturday. Junior Thea Hoffmeister has posted a cumulative total of 159 (+15). The Berlin, Germany, native's total places her in a tie for 50th. Sophomore Kishi Sinha recorded a two-round total of 160 (+16) and Numa Gulyanamitta has totaled a 162 (+18).
