No. 4 Purdue Tied For Fourth After Two Rounds

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - On Monday, the fourth-ranked Purdue women's golf team opened with a team score of 295, followed by a 303 in the second round at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla. The Boilermakers are tied with LSU for fourth with a team total of 598 (+22) and have one round remaining in the tournament.

Florida takes a 20-stroke advantage into the final round after firing a 290 in the morning and a 281 in the afternoon round for a five-under par 571. TCU is in second place at 591 (295-296, +15) and Arkansas is in third place after recording a total of 596 (303-294, +20).

Purdue junior Numa Gulyanamitta is the highest placed Boilermaker, tied for 11th after opening with an even-par 72 and then recording a 76 on Monday afternoon. Gulyanamitta is four-over par with a two-round score of 298.

She trails individual leader Kelli Shean of Arkansas by eight strokes (71-69=140).

Paula Reto and Thea Hoffmeister are tied for 23rd at 151. Reto carded a 76 in the first round and fired a 75 in round two. Hoffmeister opened with a 73 but shot a 78 in the afternoon session.

Kishi Sinha and Laura Gonzalez Escallon are just one stroke behind Reto and Hoffmeister at 152 and are tied for 30th place. Sinha opened with a 78 but improved four strokes in the afternoon to card a 74. Gonzalez was the mirror opposite, opening with a 74 but shooting a 78 in the second round.

The third and final round at the River Wilderness Golf Club will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET. Purdue is paired with LSU and Texas A&M. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com and a recap will be posted to purduesports.com.
