The Purdue women's tennis team won four matches, including one flight title, in Ft. Myers Fla., on Monday during the final day of the Hilton Garden Inn Eagle Invite.

"I was pleased overall with the results from the tournament," head coach Laura Glitz said. "The team showed me that they have the commitment, unity and tenacity for us to do well this season. We played a lot of matches this weekend, and I know we will be ready to go in our first dual match of the season against EMU on Friday."

Freshman Imogen Golder won the No. 5 singles draw as she ran through her first collegiate tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. The Auckland, New Zealand, native, who joined the team last week as a mid-term enrollee, defeated Northwestern State's Andrea Nedorostova 6-4, 6-3 to complete her unbeaten weekend and take the crown.

Junior Bhavani Tirumurti dropped her first set but recovered to earn a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (7) victory over South Florida's Natalie Guevara and take third in the No. 3 singles draw. Senior Michelle Sammons won the consolation final and finished fifth in the No. 1 singles draw when she beat Adna Curukovic from Northwestern State 6-2, 7-5.

Sophomore Anna Dushkina finished second in the No. 4 singles draw after falling to Northwestern State's Martina Rubesova 6-4, 7-6. Classmate Remi Martin also finished second in her draw when Dragana Colic from Northwestern State won the No. 7 singles draw with a 6-1, 7-6 (5) victory. Fellow sophomore Jennifer Rabot fell in the consolation final of the No. 2 singles draw as Aline Berkenbrock from North Florida picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory, and classmate Kay Kay Magi was defeated by Florida Gulf Coast's Jen Evans 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 6 singles draw consolation final.

Tirumurti and Golder teamed up to defeat Missouri's Kristen Bleakley and Maria Christensen 9-7 and win the consolation final at No. 3 doubles. Dushkina and Martin finished second in the No. 2 doubles draw after falling to Akron's Angelika Jogasuria and Anya Baronayte 8-5. Sammons and Rabot dropped their final doubles match of the tournament when Berkenbrock and Raquel Castro earned an 8-4 win.
