Landfall Tradition Round 1 Results // Landfall Tradition Round 2 Tee Times
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The third-ranked Purdue women's golf team fired a 302 in the first round and is in 10th place with two rounds remaining at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C.
No. 6 Southern California leads the 18-team field after recording a 288 on Friday. Top-ranked UCLA and No. 2 Arizona State are tied for second with a team score of 293.
Arizona State's Carlota Ciganda and Alabama's Camilla Lennarth are tied for first after one round. Each fired a four-under par 68 on Friday.
The Boilermakers were led by junior Numa Gulyanamitta who carded an even-par 72 to open play. Gulyanamitta, ranked No. 10 by Golfweek as an individual, recorded five birdies and five bogeys in the first round and is tied for ninth.
Junior Maude-Aimee LeBlanc, who is ranked second nationally after winning the two tournaments she has competed in this fall, is tied for 36th after opening with a three-over 75. LeBlanc was three-under par after six holes, but bogeyed holes No. 7 and 11, double-bogeyed No. 8 and 12 before recording her fourth birdie of the day on No. 13.
Kishi Sinha, Purdue's most improved player early in the season, fired a 77 in the first round and is tied for 50th. Freshman Laura Gonzalez Escallon recorded a 78 and is tied for 58th, while junior Thea Hoffmeister shot an 81 and is tied for 72nd.
The Boilermakers will begin round two with tee times starting at 10:09 a.m. ET at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course, a par-72, 6,325-yard layout. The Landfall Tradition is serving as the NCAA Fall Preview as the course will be the site of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships in May.
