FULLERTON, Calif. - The Cal State Fullerton Titans snapped Purdue's eight-game win streak by handing the Boilermakers a 5-0 loss Friday night.

Purdue managed just four hits in the game, while allowing the Titans five runs on 10 hits. Senior Ashley Hall, juniors Kelly Miller and Candace Curtis and freshman Beth Cinadr provided the Boilermakers' offense.

Jessica Doucette (4-4) garnered the victory for Fullerton, while junior Dana Alcocer struck out three in a losing effort for the Boilermakers.

Kiki Munoz put Fullerton on top 1-0 with a two-out single in the bottom of the first.

A third-inning bunt single by Miller accounted for Purdue's first hit of the game, however, the Boilermakers were unable to capitalize.

Cinadr added another hit to the Boilermakers' tally, leading off the fourth inning with a single through the right side. Junior Katie Mitchell reached on a fielder's choice the following play as Cinadr was out at second. A sacrifice bumped Mitchell over a base, then sophomore Jenna Alexander filled the hole at first as she was hit by a pitch. A strikeout, however, left both stranded.

The Boilermakers had another scoring opportunity in the fifth inning as Hall laced a two-out triple to left center. A ground ball kept the team from breaking onto the scoreboard.

The Titans expanded their lead with a run on a hit in the bottom of the fifth. Katie Gollhardt doubled, then scored after a pair of fielder's choice plays.

The Fullerton pitcher, Doucette, helped her own cause with a two-run home run in the sixth. The Titans combined two more hits and a fielder's choice for another run in the stanza.

The Boilermakers went down in order in the seventh to end the game.

Purdue returns to action at 4:30 p.m. (EST) when it faces the Pacific Tigers.
