Final Stats

OXFORD, Ohio - The Purdue women's swimming and diving teams lost their first two duals of the season last night at a multi-dual meet at Miami (Ohio). The Boilermakers fell to the host Redhawks 171-129 and lost to Louisville 197-102.

Freshman Lauren Roth was the lone Purdue swimmer to win an event, taking the 200 fly in 2:03.99. The Boilermakers also picked up points in the event from junior Christine Inman, who swam a 2:07.68 to finish fourth.

Roth also swam well in the distance events, picking up a second place finish in the 1000 free with a time of 10:13.44 and another second place in the 500 free in 5:02.18.

Freshman Kristen Gilson and sophomore Katie Beck finished 3-4, respecitvely, in the 100 back. Gilson posted a 57.97 and Beck swam a 58.68.

They each recorded solid finishes in the 200 back, as well. Gilson finished third with a time of 2:03.54 and Beck was fifth in 2:08.51.

The 200 free relay team of sophomores Ariel Martin and Lisa Butler, junior Leah Henninger and Roth posted a solid finish. The quartet came in fourth with a time of 1:35.89.

Freshmen Ashley Beal and Casey Matthews led the diving effort. Beal won the 1-meter with a score of 269.55. Matthews posted a 320.90 to take the 3-meter.

The Purdue women (0-2) are back in the pool tonight at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center for their Intrasquad/Alumni Meet. Live scoring will be provided on purduesports.com.
