COLUMBUS, Ohio - In an event where the first place team finished 48 strokes over par, the Boilermakers scored a team total of 930 (311-312-307) and finished 10th at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio.

Colorado won the tournament with a team total of 900 (299-307-294). Michigan State was second 903 (303-302-298) and Kent State was third with a score of 908 (305-304-299). The host Buckeyes were third with a 909 (298-310-301) and Northwestern was fifth at 912 (317-297-298). Purdue scored its lowest round of the tournament with a final round 307 but dropped a spot to 10th.

The Boilermakers were led by Tom Oliver who finished tied for 13th after firing a 77 in the final round for a total of 226 (77-72-77). Michael Randle tied for 27th with a 231 (77-76-78).

Freshmen Erich Johnston (80-81-76)and Maximo Kopp (78-83-76) carded the low round for Purdue on Sunday, both recording 76 in the final round. They tied for 47th with totals of 237. Freshman David Gersztein tied for 64th, scoring an 81 in the final round for a total of 243.

Michigan State's Ryan Brehm won medalist honors with a five-over par 218 (73-72-73).

The event was held at the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club, a par-71, 7,455 yard venue.

The Purdue men's golf team returns to action when they play host to the Boilermaker Invitational on April 18 and 19 at the Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. It is the final opportunity for teams to play Kampen before the 2008 NCAA Men's Golf Championships are held there from May 28 to 31.
