Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After a little over an hour of play, the weather did not cooperate and the final round of the adidas Hoosier Invitational was canceled Sunday morning at the IU Championship Golf Course. The scores reverted back to the first 36 holes, and the Purdue men's golf team finished third in the 17-team field with a team total of 586 (297-289).

Eastern Kentucky won the event with a score of 582 (304-278), while Miami (Ohio) finished second, two shots under EKU at 584 (282-302). The host team, 18th-ranked Indiana, finished fourth at 590 (306-284) and the Indiana Crimson team, which was made up of five individuals and did not count toward the team scores finished at 592 (295-297), which would have been good for fifth place.

The Boilermakers finished with four golfers in the top 20, led by Purdue freshman Maximo Kopp who tied for third after carding one-over par 72s in both rounds on Saturday. Freshman David Gersztein and junior Tom Oliver recorded identical scores of 75 and 72 and tied for 12th place at 147. Junior Michael Randle tied for 18th, just one stroke behind at 148 (75-73). Freshman Erich Johnston tied for 43rd after recording 76s in both rounds on Saturday.

Eastern Kentucky's Jesse Massie topped the leaderboard at 3-under-par 139 (74-65), shooting 6-under-par 65 on the second 18, to secure medalist honors.

Purdue is back in action April 12 and 13 at the Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.
