The Purdue women's golf team moved into a tie for ninth after the second round of play at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. The Boilermakers fired a 296 on Saturday, giving them a team total of 590 and a tie with Georgia with one round to play.
UCLA took command of first place firing a 283 in the second round, giving them a Mason Rudolph tournament-record 564 after the first two rounds. Arizona State is in second place (573) and top-ranked Duke is third (576). Duke junior Amanda Blumenherst holds the individual lead by two strokes after firing a 68 on Saturday.
The Boilermakers were led by junior Maria Hernandez and freshman Maude-Aimee Leblanc on Saturday. They each carded even-par 72s in the second round. Hernandez is tied for ninth with a total score of 143 (-1) and LeBlanc is tied for 18th with a two-round sum of 145 (+1).
Junior Christel Boeljon fired a 76, putting her in a tie for 32nd with a total of 148. Freshman Junthima Gulyanamitta also recorded a 76 on Saturday and her two-day total of 154 has her tied for 64th place.
Rounding out the play for Purdue is junior Stephanie Oukeo. She had a 78 today and is tied for 83rd with a total score of 159.
The Mason Rudolph is hosted by No. 8 Vanderbilt and features the top-nine teams in the nation, according to Golfweek, and 14 out of the top-27 teams in women's collegiate golf.
The final round of the 54-hole tournament is Sunday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, on the par-72, 6,217-yard Ironhorse Course.
