SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - The Purdue men's golf team improved by 10 strokes in the second round, firing a 310, but lost ground in the standings, dropping to 24th place in the NCAA Central Regional at Rich Harvest Farms.

Tulsa moved into first place behind a second round score of 280 and a two-day total of 585 (+9). Louisville is seven strokes behind in second place (592) and Lamar is in third (594).

Purdue senior Peter Richardson is tied for 57th after firing a second round 79. Richardson is 10-over par with a total score of 154 after two rounds. Sophomore Tom Oliver carded an 80 and is tied for 80th place. His two-round 157 is 13-over par.

Sophomore Michael Randle was the low golfer for the Boilermakers today, carding a 74. He is tied for 96th and is 15-over par after two rounds. Randle's round included four birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey.

Senior Pariya Junhasavasdikul fired a 77 today. He is tied for 102nd place and is plus-16 with one round to play. Freshman Vince Nadeau followed up his first round 85 with an 83 today. Nadeau is tied for 130th.

Tulsa's Dawie Van Der Walt is in first place with a two-round total of 140 (-4). He has a one-stroke lead over Louisville's Daryl Fathauer.

The course is a par 72, 7,214 yard venue and the tournament is hosted by Northern Illinois University.

The top 10 teams and the top two individuals who are not members of those 10 teams, will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf Championships on May 30 to June 2 in Williamsburg, Va.

The final round of play begins tomorrow morning with the Boilermakers first tee time at approximately 2 p.m. ET. Live scoring can be found at golfstat.com.
