FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Purdue University seniors Rickey Pinkney and Corrie Whisner and junior Keith Hopkins all fell short of tomorrow's finals in their respective events at the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas on Friday. Pinkney and Hopkins finished 11th and 14th in the men's 60-meter hurdle prelims, while Whisner placed 12th in the women's mile run.

Pinkney was unable to repeat his 2006 All-American performance in the hurdles as his time of 7.80 was 0.05 seconds short of tomorrow's finals, while Hopkins managed a time of 7.84 seconds. Whisner also narrowly missed finals qualification as her time of 4:47.10 was 0.62 seconds away from tomorrow's competition.

Sophomore Mallory Peck is the Boilermakers' lone remaining participant and she will compete in the women's pole vault tomorrow at 5 p.m.
