MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - The Purdue men's golf team is tied for ninth after the first day of action at the General Jim Hackler Championship in Murrells Inlet, S.C. The Boilermakers recorded a two-round team total of 585 (+9) and play the final round today at the TPC of Myrtle Beach.
Sixth-ranked Lamar University leads the tournament with a team score of 553 (-23). No. 12 UCS is in second place after recording a two-round total of 560 (-16) and the host team, No. 11 Coastal Carolina is in third and the only other team under par at 572 (-4).
USC's Tom Glissmeyer and East Tennessee State's Rhys Davies are tied for first place, both at nine under par with two-round totals of 135.
Purdue senior Peter Richardson
Freshman Vince Nadeau is tied for 48th place with a two-round score of 148 and freshman Ryan Thomas is tied for 55th with a score of 149. Senior Bobby Bennett sits in a tie for 69th carding a 151.
