FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Purdue University sophomore Mallory Peck tied for seventh place in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the University of Arkansas on Saturday.
Peck cleared 4.10 meters (13-05.25) to score for the Boilers, falling just 0.01 meters shy of her personal- and season-best height. She becomes the first Boilermaker woman vaulter to place at the national indoor championships since Amy Spellmeyer took sixth in 2000.
This was Peck's second national meet as she qualified for last year's NCAA Outdoor Championships, and hopes to continue the trend this spring. The Boilermakers' outdoor season begins on March 23 at the Arizona State Invitational.
