GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Purdue men's golf team was unable to gain ground during the final day of the SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., finishing in 14th place. The Boilermakers recorded a three-round team total of 906. Top-ranked and tournament host, Florida won the tournament with a score of 850. Florida State finished second carding a team total of 861 and No. 23 Wake Forest, who started the day in first place, finished third with a score of 862.
Florida junior Manuel Villegas was the individual medalist, finishing the tournament six-under par with a three-round total of 204.

The Gator Invitational is in its 29th year and was held at the 6,701-yard, par 70, University Golf Course in Gainesville.
The men's and women's golf teams return to action when they host tournaments in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The men's Puerto Rico Classic will be held at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort from Feb. 25-27 and the women's Lady Puerto Rico Classic is at the Coco Beach Resort on Feb. 23-25.
