The Purdue women's golf team is in second place after 36 holes of the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Dublin, Ohio.
The seventh-ranked Boilermakers trail Auburn after the second round. The Tigers totaled 568 strokes on Saturday and lead Purdue by 17 strokes. Purdue totaled 287 strokes over the first 18 holes and 296 in the afternoon. It totaled 583 strokes on the day. Florida is in third place after a total of 584.
The Lady Buckeye Invitational is the final tune-up for the Big Ten Championships next weekend. Purdue leads all nine other Big Ten schools in the field on after Saturday.
Senior Onnarin Sattayabanphot and freshman Christel Boeljon are both tied for fourth overall. The duo each fired a one-under 71 in the morning round and a 73 in the afternoon. The pair totaled 144 strokes on the day.
Freshman Maria Hernandez posted the lowest round of the day for the Boilermakers. She carded a three-under 69 in the morning session. She totaled 145 on the day after a 76 in the afternoon. She is tied for sixth overall.
Junior Myrte Eikenaar is tied for 28th after rounds of 76 and 74. Sophomore Whitney Frykman totaled 152 and is tied for 42nd overall.
The tournament is being held at The Golf Club of Dublin. It is a par-72, 6,177-yard layout. The final round will be played Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. ET.
