Final Stats

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team lost 5-2 at No. 11 Texas on Sunday. The 30th-ranked Boilermakers saw their record drop to 5-4, while the Longhorns, who were ranked as high as No. 3 earlier this season, improved to 6-5 with the victory.

Purdue started the match with a 1-0 lead, thanks to two doubles victories. Winning for Purdue were the pairs at No. 1 and No. 2. The 40th-ranked tandem of junior Hala Sufi and freshman Mallory Voelker beat Marovic and Strohm 8-3 at No. 1. At No. 2, sophomore Brooke Beier and freshman Randi Schuler won 8-2 over Baritot and Zauft.

Schuler was the only Boilermaker to win in singles, as she upset No. 51 Petra Dizdar 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at No. 2.

Purdue will have a break before returning to the court March 16 at UC Irvine. The Boilermakers will not play another home match until April 1.
