SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Junior Rickey Pinkney and senior Brooke Woodruff set school records in the 60-meter hurdles and 800-meter run at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday.

Pinkney (Lake Worth, Fla.) sliced two hundredths of a second off of his provisional qualifying mark of 7.83 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles finals. The junior clocked a time of 7.86 in the preliminaries, before posting the school record mark of 7.81 seconds in the event finals. The time bests his previous record mark of 7.82 which came on Feb. 19, 2005. Pinkney ranked 12th in the nation entering the last chance meet.

Woodruff (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) finished sixth in the 800 at the invitational, posting a school-record time of 2:07.90. The time cuts more than a second off of Woodruff's provisional qualifying mark of 2:08.92, while besting Kim Jordan's school record mark of 2:08.28, which was set on Feb. 23, 2002.

Senior Jocelyn Lindsey (Waynesburg, Pa.), junior Astin Steward (Okemos, Mich.) and sophomore Leah Kincaid (Springfield, Ill.) also competed in the meet with varying results.

Steward won the weight throw with a toss of 62-1 1/4 (18.93m) on Friday, while Lindsey was fifth in the pole vault with a clearance of 12-6 1/2 (3.83m). Kincaid finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 19-8 1/4 (6.00m) and seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.73 seconds.

The Boilermakers were vying for a spot in the NCAA Championships, which will be held in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 10-11. The competition list will be announced early in the week.
