WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue women's tennis team added another `W' to its win-loss record Sunday with a 7-0 victory at Penn State. The 33rd-ranked Boilermakers improved to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten with the win, while the Lady Lions dropped to 7-6 and 1-2.
Purdue started the match with a 1-0 lead thanks to two doubles victories. Junior Hala Sufi and freshman Mallory Voelker won at No. 1, while senior Brittany Minna and sophomore Stephanie Wooten clinched the point with a win at No. 3.
The Boilermakers steamrolled through singles, winning all six matches in straight sets.
Purdue returns home this weekend for matches against Ohio State and Notre Dame on Saturday and Sunday. The Boilermakers have not played a home match since Feb. 22.
