WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - One day. Two matches. Two wins. The Purdue women's tennis team evened its record with a 6-1 victory over Miami (Ohio) in the nightcap of a Saturday doubleheader at the Lafayette Sports Center.

The 40th-ranked Boilermakers, who defeated DePaul 6-1 in the first match of the day, began their evening contest with similar success. Purdue swept the three doubles matches to claim the first point of the contest against the RedHawks.

The Boilermakers kept the wins coming in singles, winning five of six matches. All five wins came in straight sets, with Purdue winning 60 of 71 games. Freshman Mallory Voelker turned in the most dominant performance, a 6-0, 6-0 win over Linda Jirouskova at No. 4.

Purdue improved to 2-2 with the victory, while Miami (Ohio) saw its record evened at 2-2 with the defeat.

Purdue will have next weekend off before welcoming Rice and Kentucky to the Lafayette Sports Center on Feb. 17 and 19.
