WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The 42nd-ranked Purdue women's tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss at No. 19 Tennessee on Sunday. The loss dropped the Boilermakers to 0-2, while the Lady Vols evened their record at 2-2 with the home win.

Tennessee took the first point of the match by winning two of the doubles contests. In singles, the Lady Vols recorded wins at No. 2, No. 1 and No. 4 to clinch the overall victory. The next two matches to come off the court were wins for Purdue - at No. 6 by Brittany Minna and No. 3 by Brooke Beier - but the match already had been decided.

Purdue, which suffered a season-opening loss at No. 24 Wake Forest on Friday, will try for its first win of the season Saturday, when it plays host to DePaul and Miami (Ohio) in a doubleheader. The first match will start at 1 p.m., while the second will get under way at 6:30 p.m. Both contests will be played at the Lafayette Sports Center.
