WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Two singles victories for the Purdue women's tennis team highlighted the third and final day of competition at the UVA Invitational. On Monday, sophomore Brooke Beier and freshman Mallory Voelker came through with wins over Alabama in the hidden-dual tournament.
Beier beat Mari Muller 7-6, 2-6, 10-7 at No. 3, while Voelker posted a 7-6, 6-2 win against Andrea Brenes at No. 4.
Beier also won in doubles, as she paired with freshman Randi Schuler for an 8-4 win over Wink and Rales of Virginia at No. 2.
Results from the UVA Invitational count only toward individual records. The Boilermakers are 0-0 heading into their first dual match of the season at Wake Forest on Jan. 27.
