The Purdue women's golf team advanced to the finals of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Saturday.

In the conclusion of the second round continued from Friday, the Boilermakers put the finishing touches on 10th-seeded Stanford, 4 to 1.

Senior Onnarin Sattayabanphot, junior Myrte Eikenaar, sophomore Whitney Frykman and freshman Maria Hernandez all earned victories over the Cardinal.

In the afternoon, Purdue defeated sixth-seeded Texas A&M, 4 to 1. Sattayabanphot, Eikenaar, Hernandez and freshman Christel Boeljon all earned wins.

The third-ranked Boilermakers are the No. 2 seed in the event. Second-ranked UCLA is the top-seeded team, but lost to Arizona State in the semifinals.

Purdue faces the Sun Devils in the finals, held on Sunday.

This unique event features 16 teams and will be played at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort. Invitation to the tournament was based on 2005 national championships finish.

If the Boilermakers win, it will be their fourth victory in five fall outings.
