The Purdue women's golf team is in third place after the first day of the 2005 Lady Boilermaker Invitational.

Purdue fired two rounds of 301 on Saturday to total 602 strokes. Northwestern leads the event with 597 and TCU is second with 598. Northwestern fired a first-round 292, the lowest of the day.

The Boilermakers have three individuals in the top 11 in the standings. Their rounds of 301 were the seventh-lowest of the day.

Junior Onnarin Sattayabanphot and sophomore Myrte Eikenaar both totaled 146 on the day. Sattayabanphot fired a 71 in the first round and a 75 on the second 18 holes. He first round was highlighted by a chip-in for eagle on Hole No. 10. Eikenaar fired a 75 in the morning and a 71 in the afternoon. The duo is tied for fourth place overall.

Freshman Whitney Frykman carded a 150 after rounds of 78 and 72. She is tied for 11th overall.

Sophomore Caroline Haase is tied for 49th after a total of 160. Freshman Danielle Wolter totaled 169 and is tied for 69th. Redshirt-freshman Kara Eschbach totaled 170 and is in 71st place.

The event is being hosted by Purdue and held at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex's Kampen Course. The course is a par 72, 6,025-yard layout.

Final round action begins on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. EST. Purdue will tee off at 9:18 a.m.
