WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team dropped its fifth straight match with a 5-2 loss at No. 57 Indiana on Saturday. The Boilermakers are now 3-8 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten, while the Hoosiers are 8-8 and 2-1.

The Hoosier victory, combined with an Indiana women's tennis victory earlier in the day at Purdue, gave the Boilermaker rivals a 10-4 lead in the Crimson and Gold Cup series, an all-sports competition between the two schools.

The Hoosiers won the doubles point, claiming victories at No. 1 and No. 2. In singles, the Boilermakers got wins from senior Filip Koziell at No. 2 and sophomore Jarred Leibner at No. 4. Indiana, meanwhile, took the No. 1 and No. 6 matches, leaving the outcome in the hands of the No. 3 and No. 5 players. The former finished first, as David Bubenicek outlasted Purdue senior David Robinson in three sets. In the final match to come off the court, Purdue junior Colin Foster dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 decision to Neil Kenner.

Purdue will take Easter Sunday off, but will return to the court Monday against Notre Dame. The match with the Fighting Irish will be played at the Lafayette Sports Center, beginning at 2 p.m.
