WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team dropped its second straight match on its spring break trip to California on Thursday. The 57th-ranked Boilermakers fell 7-0 to No. 23 Texas Tech in Malibu, and watched their overall record dip to 3-6. The Red Raiders are a perfect 15-0.

The lone winners on the day were seniors Sounak Chatterjee and Filip Koziell, who teamed for an 8-2 win over Teddy DiBlasi and Michael Innerebner at No. 2 doubles. Chatterjee and Koziell are now 8-0 this spring.

Purdue head coach Tim Madden said his Boilermakers simply were outmatched.

"Texas Tech is very talented and they showed us what a top 25 team is all about," Madden said. "They really minimized our ability to exploit their weaknesses."

Purdue, which began its three-match trip to the Golden State with a loss to Princeton in San Diego on March 14, closes out its western trek with a true road match at Pepperdine on March 18. The Waves currently are ranked 11th.
