LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Purdue women's golf team moved up to seventh place after the second round of the 2005 UNLV Spring Invitational.

The Boilermakers were in ninth place after the first 18 holes on Monday. Purdue carded a 303 on Tuesday, 23 strokes better than its first-round score. It was the third-lowest round of the day. The Boilermakers have a two-round total of 629.

Southern California leads the event with a 601 and Arizona is second with a 613.

For the second day in a row sophomore Caroline Haase impressed by carding a 76. Her total of 152 has her in a sixth-place tie in the individual standings.

Junior Onnarin Sattayabanphot fired a two-over 74. She carded two birdies and four bogeys and is tied for 25th overall along with freshman Whitney Frykman. Frykman shot a 76 on Tuesday, five strokes better than her first-round total.

Sophomore Myrte Eikenaar carded a 77 and is tied for 51st overall. Freshman Danielle Wolter is tied for 96th after a second-round 89.

Redshirt freshman Kara Eschbach is competing as an individual and is tied for 79th after a second-round 84.

The 18-team event is being hosted by the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and held at the Black Mountain Country Club. The course is a par 72, 6,009-yard layout.

Final-round action begins on Wednesday morning at 8:30 PST.
