The Purdue men's golf team is in second place after the first day of the General Jim Hackler Invitational. The Boilermakers have four individuals in the top 20 overall.

The 54-hole tournament featured 36 holes on Sunday. The Boilermakers fired a 296 in the first 18 and 290 in the afternoon to total 586. Host school Coastal Carolina leads the event after totaling 582. Kansas State is third with 591 and Notre Dame is fourth with 593.

Purdue was led by sophomore Bobby Bennett, who returned to the form he displayed in the fall season by firing a 144 on the day. Bennett is tied for fourth overall after carding a 73 in the morning and a one-under 71 in the afternoon.

Sophomore Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 10th overall behind a strong start on the day. He fired a one-under 71 on the first 18 holes and a 76 in the afternoon.

Senior Dustin Cone carded a 71 in the afternoon on Sunday and is tied for 15th. He totaled a 148 on the day.

Sophomore Peter Richardson is tied for 20th after a second-round 72. He totaled a 149 on Sunday. Freshman Santiago Russi totaled a 152 and is tied for 33rd overall.

The event is being hosted by Coastal Carolina and held at the TPC of Myrtle Beach golf course. The course is a par-72, 6950-yard layout.

The final round will be held on Monday, March 14. Purdue recorded four top-three finishes during the fall season, including a win at the Radrick Farms Intercollegiate on Sept. 12.
