The Purdue men's golf team moved up to eighth place after the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

The Boilermakers fired a 295 in the first round and came back with a 288 on Monday. Purdue was in 12th place after 18 holes but has moved up to eighth. Georgia leads the event after a total of 558 through 36 holes. Florida is in second place with a 562.

All five Boilermakers fired a 74 or better on Monday. Senior Dustin Cone leads the way and is tied for 17th place overall.

Sophomore Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 28th after a second-round 72. Freshman Santiago Russi is tied for 28th after a team-low 71 on Monday.

Sophomore Bobby Bennett is tied for 51st after a 74 and sophomore Peter Richardson rebounded from an 80 on Sunday to card a 71 on Monday.

The event is being hosted by Purdue and held at the Westin Rio Mar Golf Course in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The course is a par 72, 6,945-yard layout.

Final round action begins on Tuesday morning.
