ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Weight throwers Astin Steward and Courtney Magnuson highlighted an otherwise tough second day for the Purdue Boilermakers at the Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Steward placed fourth with a personal best launch of 18.87 meters (61 feet - 11 inches). Magnuson, a senior, placed two spots lower with a lifetime best of 18.65 (61-2.25). The two combined for eight of the 11 points Purdue scored during the final day of competition.

The Boilermakers placed 10th for a second straight year, scoring 27 points. The Old Gold and Black also received two points from Gina Harvey in the 400 and one from its 4x400-meter relay team. Harvey was Purdue's lone finalist in any track event, and placed seventh with a season best of 57.09 seconds.

The 4x400 relay team, which placed eighth, was comprised of Harvey, Stephanie Stromp, Ashley Kemp and Angela Anoliefoh.

Host Michigan won the team title with 130 points. Illinois (117.5) and Minnesota (79) were second and third.

Purdue next competes March 4 and 5 at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invitational. This is a last-chance meet for the Boilermakers in order to advance to the NCAA Indoor Championships at the University of Arkansas (March 12 and 13).
