The Purdue men's golf team is in 12th place after the first round of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The Boilermakers fired a 295 on Sunday. Georgia leads the event after a 278. Florida is in second place with a 279.
Senior Dustin Cone led the way for the Boilermakers after a two-under par 70. He is tied for 13th place overall.
Sophomore Pariya Junhasavasdikul is tied for 44th after a first-round 74. Freshman Santiago Russi is tied for 51st after a 75.
Sophomore Bobby Bennett is tied for 66th after a 76 and sophomore Peter Richardson fired an 80 and is tied for 87th.
The event is being hosted by Purdue and held at the Westin Rio Mar Golf Course in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. The course is a par 72, 6,945-yard layout.
Second round action begins on Monday morning and the final round will be held on Tuesday, March 1.
