WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue men's tennis team lost 5-2 at No. 57 N.C. State on Saturday. The loss dropped the 68th-ranked Boilermakers to 1-1, while the Wolfpack improved to 9-0 with the victory in Raleigh.

Purdue looked good at the start, winning the doubles point by virtue of victories at the No. 2 and 3 positions. Seniors Sounak Chatterjee and Filip Koziell teamed up for an 8-6 win over William Noblitt and Dennis Myers in the second slot. At No. 3, junior Colin Foster and Scott Warner posted an 8-2 win against Val Banada and Andre Iriarte.

Unfortunately, Purdue managed to win only one of six singles matches in its three-point loss. The lone individual winner on the day was Paul Rose. The 76th-ranked Boilermaker junior beat 84th-ranked Conor Taylor 6-4, 7-6.

Purdue will return to the court Sunday, when it plays at No. 30 North Carolina at 1 p.m.
