HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Purdue women's golf team was eliminated from the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Monday after falling to UNLV.
The ninth-seeded Boilermakers lost in a scorecard playoff in the second round 2-2-1 to the 16th-seeded Rebels.
Sophomore Myrte Eikenaar halved her match with Elena Kourokawa. Freshman Whitney Frykman defeated Seema Sadekar 2 and 1 and sophomore Maria Stinson downed Tina Mabanta 4 and 3.
The event was held at the Mission Inn Resort at Howey in the Hills, Fla.
The event was the last of the fall season for the Boilermakers. They begin the spring season on Feb. 21 at the Lady Puerto Rico Invitational.
