Falls Season Wraps Up

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS - The Purdue men's golf team was eliminated from the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Monday after falling to Penn State.

The ninth-seeded Boilermakers lost in the second round 3-1-1 to the 16th-seeded Nittany Lions.

Senior Dustin Cone and picked up the lone win for the Boilermakers by defeating Ted Neville, 2 and 1. Sophomore Pariya Junhasavadikul halved his match with Marco Poccia.

Sophomores Brandon Lawson, Bobby Bennett and Peter Richardson all lost their matches.

The event was held at the Mission Inn Resort at Howey in the Hills, Fla.

The event was the last of the fall season for the Boilermakers. They begin the spring season on Feb. 5 and 6 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
