HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Purdue women's golf team dropped its first round match to Washington at the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship on Sunday.
The 14th-seeded Boilermakers fell 3-1-1 to the No. 4 seed Washington.
Sophomore Caroline Haase earned the only victory for the Boilermakers, defeating Ashley Bickerton, 4 and 3. Sophomore Maria Stinson and Amber Prange halved their match.
The Boilermakers face No. 12 seed Arizona in the second round of the event, which was postponed due to a rain delay.
The event is being held at the Mission Inn Resort at Howey in the Hills, Fla.
The second round of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship will resume on Monday morning at 8 a.m. EST.
