WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - David Robinson and Paul Rose of the Purdue men's tennis team paired up for a doubles win in the second round of qualifying at the Icy Hot/ITA-All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Tuesday.
Robinson and Rose, who won their first-round match in the field of 64 Monday, beat the 51st-ranked combo of Manuel Kost and Markus Schiller of Oregon in the round of 32. They will take on the second-seeded and 23rd-ranked team of Scott Doerner and Pedro Rico of Pepperdine on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
In singles, Rose dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to 105th-ranked Oscar Posada of East Tennessee State in the round of 64. Rose is ranked 56th nationally.
