The Purdue women's golf team is within striking distance with 18 holes to play at the 2004 Landfall Tradition.
The Boilermakers fired a second-round 295 and are tied with Tulsa with a 596 after two rounds. New Mexico leads the event with a 582. Tulsa and Tennessee are in second and third place respectively.
Purdue sophomore Myrte Eikenaar is tied fourth after rounds of 72 and 71. Sophomore Onnarin Sattayabanphot carded a 73 on Saturday and is tied for 21st overall.
Freshman Whitney Frykman is tied for 33rd after a two-round total of 152. Sophomore Caroline Haase is tied for 42nd after a 74 on Saturday.
Sophomore Maria Stinson is tied for 56th.
The event is being hosted by UNC-Wilmington and held at the Country Club of the Landfall, designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course is a par 72, 6,034-yard layout.
The final round begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m. EST.
