MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Panther Joanna Severson scored the game-winning goal with 12 seconds left in regulation, giving Wisconsin-Milwaukee a 2-1 win over Purdue Saturday at Engelmann Field. The loss drops Purdue's record to 10-9 heading into next week's Big Ten Tournament.

With the match knotted at 1-1, and 16 ticks remaining, the Panthers received a throw-in ten yards from the end line. The ball was lobbed to the middle of the field, dribbled around a bit by Taylor Powell and Melissa Richter, before Severson ricocheted her shot off the near post from eight-yards back.

Maureen Carey, who replaced starter Lauren Mason at halftime, was handed the loss. She completed the match with two saves.

For the third time this season, Purdue took an early lead only to see it slip away. The Boilermakers also gave up 1-0 leads at Penn State and Northwestern.

Purdue struck first in the 11th minute on Parrissa Eyorokon's team-leading fourth goal of the season. Eyorokon's assist came from Lori Arnold, who passed the ball to the freshman attacker after making a steal. The rookie then one-timed the shot from 30-yards back and into the top corner over the head of goalkeeper Kerri St. Aubin.

Aubin played all 90 minutes, making three saves.

Before the Boilermakers could enjoy their lead, the referee called Kira Bilecky for a foul in the goal box, setting up a penalty kick. Twelve seconds later, UWM had tied the match after Elizabeth Chuddy buried the ball past Mason.

A third of Purdue's losses have now come on penalty kicks. Victims of their own aggressiveness, the Boilermakers also lost 1-0 decisions to Michigan and Ohio State.

Purdue returns to Columbus Thursday, Nov. 4 for a first-round Big Ten Tournament match against the Buckeyes. The winner of their quarterfinal match will face the winner of Michigan and Wisconsin.

The Boilermakers enter the postseason as a No. 7 seed; Ohio State is the No. 2 seed behind Penn State.
