WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Paul Rose lost his third-round match at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich. The loss bounced the junior out of the tournament, played host to by the University of Michigan.

Rose, ranked 56th in the nation in singles and seeded seventh in the main draw, fell 6-2, 6-3 to 11th-seeded and 97th ranked Joey Atas of Ohio State. The loss kept Rose from advancing to the quarterfinals.

"Paul is disappointed, but he's a competitor and he'll bounce back," Madden said. "I think this experience will make him more determined. We all intend to make up for the disappointments of this weekend at Big Ten Singles."
