WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue men's tennis players Sounak Chatterjee and Paul Rose lost their opening-round match in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships doubles main draw Friday in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Boilermaker senior-junior combo fell by a 9-7 score to the Western Michigan freshman pair of Bacalla and Birchmeier.

Chatterjee, Rose and senior David Robinson all will begin singles main draw competition Saturday at the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center. Rose, the 56th-ranked player in the nation, enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed.
