WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Paul Rose, a junior on the Purdue men's tennis team, recorded his first upset of the year, knocking off 26th-ranked Jeffrey Kader of William & Mary on the second day of action at the Notre Dame Tom Fallon Invitational. Rose, who is ranked 56th in the nation, came from behind to beat Kader 1-6, 7-6, 10-7.
Rose was not the only successful Boilermaker in Purdue's hidden dual match against the Tribe in South Bend on Saturday. Senior Sounak Chatterjee also came from a set down to defeat Sean Kelleher 4-6, 7-6, 10-7. Sophomore Scott Warner beat Kavi Sud 6-4, 6-4, while junior Colin Foster and senior Filip Koziell also added wins. Foster downed Matt Rubenstein 7-5, 6-0; Koziell earned a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 17-15 victory over Alex Cojanu.
In doubles against William & Mary, Chatterjee and Foster teamed for an 8-6 win against Sud and Colin O'Brien.
Purdue finished the day with three doubles matches against Notre Dame. Rose and Foster paired up for a 9-7 win against Brent D'Amico and Eric Langenkamp. Koziell and sophomore Chris Cozad beat Andrew Roth and Yuichi Uda 8-3.
