The Purdue men's golf team is tied for 13th place at the 2004 Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico from Feb. 22 to 24.

The tournament is recognized as one of the premier events during the season. This year's field features eight of the top 25 teams in the Golfweek Top-25 Poll.

The tournament is being held on the par-72, 6,945-yard River Golf Course at the Westin Rio Mar Country Club.

The Boilermakers were led by freshman Peter Richardson, who fired a 74. He is tied for 36th place overall.

Junior Dustin Cone and freshman Pariya Junhasavasdikul each fired a 75. They are tied for 46th overall.

Senior Shiv Kapur is tied for 56th after a 76. Senior Luke Epp is tied for 66th after a 77.

Second-round action is slated to begin Monday at 7 a.m. EST. Complete results will be posted at purduesports.com.
